Care staff rarely sit down. They move between residents, documentation, and handover — usually with one hand free and a tablet wedged under an elbow. When I started designing for Cairful, I assumed the bottleneck was information density. It was actually decision fatigue.
A nurse making her 40th documentation entry of the shift does not need more options. She needs the right next action, pre-filled with what the system already knows, with an obvious escape if the assumption is wrong.
The pattern that survived production: every screen answers three questions in order — who is this about, what just changed, what do I do next. Anything that does not earn its place inside that loop gets pushed into a secondary surface.
This is not minimalism. Minimalism is an aesthetic decision. This is triage. The visual restraint is a side effect of refusing to charge the user attention they do not have.
